SYNOPSIS:

The field of Artificial Intelligence is experiencing an incredible boom period, both in terms of development of the technology through research, and the release of increasingly sophisticated software tools and products. Importantly these tools are now available to the general public, who can play with Large Language Models (LLMs) such as ChatGPT, or image generators such as DaVinci, easily and cheaply. This is the first time in the history of A.I. that such technology has been widely available to the general public.

What does this incredible expansion of the development and use of A.I. mean for society? What are the benefits that A.I. is already bringing to commercial enterprises, and how is the technology benefitting individuals? Where is A.I. going in the next few years and what new opportunities might emerge? What risks does the rapid expansion of A.I.’s reach bring, and how can we manage these risks effectively? How are tools like ChatGPT and DaVince affecting society? Is A.I. now on an unstoppable pathway towards surpassing humanity? Can it be stopped? Should it be stopped?
