Message of the Organizers

Update to the EANN Community from the organisers

Dear Colleagues,

On behalf of the 23rd EANN 2022 Organizing and Scientific Committee, it is a great honor and pleasure to welcome all of you, who are looking for a forum to disseminate your innovative research and to communicate recent advances in the field of Artificial Intelligence, with emphasis in Machine Learning.

EANN aims to provide a forum for delegates from both academia and industry, who wish to exchange pioneer ideas, to get to know each other better and to present their research. The conference accepts papers from all AI spectrum and not only from the Neural Networks thematic area. Its name will change gradually in the next years to come, to: EAAAI (Engineering Applications and Advances of Artificial Intelligence).

The Engineering Applications of Neural Networks (EANN) Conference has been held continuously since 1995, under the auspices of the INNS EANN Special Interest Group. Through the years, it has evolved to a well-respected and mature event, under the technical and scientific co-sponsorship of the INNS community. This community comprises of an extended Group of leading scientists, not only from Europe but from all over the world.

The fact that the Springer Proceedings of the conference, have been downloaded more than 607,000 times so far, supports the robust impact of the event among the scholars of AI internationally. This proves the novelty and quality of the presented-published research and its important contribution to the promotion of scientific ideas, algorithms and methods, globally.

During the last two years we have been witnessing the developments in the Covid-19 virus, which has created a worldwide tragedy. As a matter of fact, the vaccination in Greece, in the rest of Europe and globally, has proceeded rapidly. The vaccinated colleagues will have no problem at all, to attend the AIAI 2022 on site, in Crete, Greece.

We announce that the EANN 2022 conference will be held in a hybrid mode. This means that the conference will be normally held in Crete Greece by physical attendance. However, those who will not be able to travel to Crete for any reason, will be given the opportunity to present remotely. Human health is the most important asset of all. We are interested in the health and wellbeing of all our EANN community, so all EU and Greek Health Protocols will be followed 100% during the 2022 event.

Nevertheless, the EANN/INNS team has extended experience in the long-distance conference organizations. We remind you that the 2020 and 2021 EANN conferences were broadcasted remotely.

After 21 years of holding EANN, strong links have been developed with the members of our scientific community. Regarding the 22nd EANN 2022 conference, the amazing atmosphere and the exotic environment of the Knossos Royal Resort in the enchanting island of Crete, guarantee a perfect venue for all AI scientists. We are certain that once more, we will be able to exchange ideas, to get to know each other better and  to interact by presenting our research achievements.

Cordially,

EANN 2022 Chairs
